History
Our story begins with children.
Momand Foundation dba Lifting Humanity, was founded on July 31, 2015 to aid children, youth and struggling families with education, social services, justice, and other human rights issues. During our inaugural year, we collaborated with various universities and institutes of higher education in Afghanistan to secure:
In November 2020, the organization received its 501(c)3 approval in Utah. Since then, we have partnered with various organizations to offer resettlement services, legal clinic, training, and on-going services to newly arrived Afghans.
In February 2022, the organization expanded its operations to open a California chapter where it continued to support foster youth, unaccompanied children, refugee families and children. We collaborated with a variety of community partners to support direct services to refugees within their first 90 days of arrival and beyond, including case management and in-kind contributions. In addition, we supported local organizations through translation services (Dari and Pashto) and training on trauma informed care and cultural sensitivity.
Lifting Humanity is committed to continuing our mission of empowering humanity through compassionate action. It is our firm belief that even a small gesture can make a significant difference in someone’s life. So let’s not hesitate in uplifting one another!
